About a year ago you may have heard that a certain kind of sheep was making Aliyah, one that had not been here in Israel for a long, long time.
They weren’t exactly exiled when the Roman’s destroyed the Second Temple, but the sheep, known as Jacob Sheep, have not lived in the Land of Israel since biblical times.
Through a joint venture with the Canadian government, Israel worked to bring back to the land a breed of the sheep which is tied genetically to the original forebears who roamed the land and they are called the 'Jacob Sheep.'
A while back, I decided to go visit these sheep and get to know this curious breed.
Here’s a few pictures of my journey.
